So mad at myself!!

I lost a freaking recipt!
I went to Target last Sunday to buy some DVD's for DH for Father's Day because they were on sale. Well, I had picked about 5 movies and walked up to the cash register so I can have him check the prices for me, the DVD's were everywhere! So out of the 5 I picked 3 that i liked the price. $10, $10 & $3. He then told me the total and he said $35 something. I thought to myself, wow, that's more than I though. I also had a father's day card. So I thought, well, I didn't check the price of that, so maybe that's why. Well, a couple days later when I was going through my reciepts, I noticed that the DVD's all rang up $10. I thought I had picked only 2 $10 DVD's. He had charged me one of the DVD's that I didn't want to take. So I put them back in the bag so I can get the $7 back for the difference. So I gathered all the recipts that I didn't need and through them in the trash! The next day I got all my errands together and we left. I was in the car looking for the Target recipt and I couldn't find it! So I made a stop back at the house and I thought to myself, I know where it is because I saved all the recipts that I needed and put them with my old recipts. I looked and it wasn't there. OHHH! I was so mad at myself. It must have gotten mixed up in the pile that I had thrown away and the trash had just been picked up. If I was a serious saver, I'm sure i would have ran after the garbage truck! So we went to target anyways to see if they could reprtint the recipt for me. no, but they tried to look up the purchase with my credit card and the date that we went. nothing, so I went home with $23 in DVD's that I paid $30 for! I would have given me the difference anyways, why would someone lie about that. They were helpful, but in the end, they just didn't want to give me the money. Hubby was happy with the movies anyways, so that's all that matters.

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
