Garage Sale Day!!

On my way to dropping of my little one at summer school many garage sale signs caught my eye! Hmmm...... maybe I should stop by? So after I dropped her off and fillup on gas (i filled up at $2.69/gal!) I made my way to these magnificent savings. I was craving a deal. Don't you just love when you get a great or useful item for near to nothing?!
First I stopped at the first sign I saw and it was the house of an old high school friend. It looked like all the brothers and sisters as well as aunts had items at the garage sale, so it was big. I was only looking for mens and girls clothes, which they had little of. I bought some sipplers for a cousin for $.50 and jeans for my little girl for $2.Then I stopped at another house that had mostly dingy clothing but I found a great table cloth that I'm going to use at my daughters birthday so the kids can paint ontop of so they don't get the grass all rainbow looking.... get ready... for only $.25!!!!! You can't beat that. It's not a bad looking table cloth at that. It's cottong, white and has a pretty knitting at the edges. I also bought a red sweater for DD, $.50 and stripped sweater for $.25. Last but not least I bought a cute minnie mouse outift for my 3 month old!
Ohh!!! I also found a dishwasher, whirlpool that the lady said she only used for like a week then she went back to hand washing.... she said she'll hold it for me and sell it for $75!!!!! It's stainless steal and it looks new. the inside was dirty, but she said it was only because she used it to pack things in! lol Going to talk to hubby to see if we can buy it. Crossing my fingers!
I don't go very often to garage sales, but this time I feel like i hit the jackpot and got some great deals. Till next time...

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
