Little Things, Big Money

After having my baby just a month ago, I've found myself surfing the net a bit more during her naps and tummy time. With my husband out of a job, I've had to make a little extra cash to buy extra wipes or just to put gas in the car when we both forgot to budget that in. Other moms also have the same problem. On a new website, Mamapedia, there are lots of questions on how they can earn a bit extra cash when craigslist doesn't work; like this one titled "Extra Money?"
I have some tips.
If you are a stay at home mom or not, everyone can have a garage/yard sale. It's fairly easy if you have kids because you can have their own "kid section" where they can snack or play and still be out of your way. You might have to check with your local government to see if you need to purchase a permit; in my area it's only $10 for three days.
Another tip is if you are crafty, try etsy.com. You don't have to pay their fee until you reach their fee limit. I haven't paid my fees in over 3 months! Things that are hand-made go for a lot more money on this website rather than if you posted it on ebay or craigslist.
If you do post things for sale on craigslist include a picture and a detailed discription on your website. And when people reply do not just use one sentence answers. Try to be a bit more professional. For example, include a signature; name, biz name, and contact information.
Good luck!

Hickies: Back-to-School Series #1

Every Friday in the month of September I will share a few tips for making the transition for both kids and parents a bit easier. This first one is a doozie! HICKIES! Keep reading to learn what I'm talking about.... I try to buy my girls (i have 3 school-aged daughters) two or more pairs of shoes; an active shoe, which usually has laces, and a more casual/formal shoe, which usually doesn't have laces. Which ones do they choose to wear nearly every day to school? The ones that have shoe laces! Of course my oldes daughter, who's now 13, can tie her own shoes, but the other two still need help. And let's be real, even the oldest one I find myself nagging her to tie her laces correctly, she gets sloppy in the mornings at times. Here come HICKIES to save the day!

Hate tying your kids' shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-on…
